New York Bans Curbside Delivery
Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced a new program to prohibit curbside delivery during peak periods, in 3 areas of NYC. This effort looks to find a solution to New York City’s congestion problem, or at least a little insight. The ban will be between 7:00 am to 10:00 am, and 4:00 to 7:00 pm. It is noted that deliveries to off-street docks, and areas dedicated to expedited deliveries will still be allowed. The City is partnering with the NY DOT as well as the Mass Transit department, looking to alleviate choke points and congestion in the city. This test effort is scheduled to last 6 months, with evaluations for further restrictions coming after that point.
