Improving the Posture of Your Drivers
While electronic monitoring has boomed recently, it is still important to make sure that drivers are working with the correct posture to ensure a safe work environment. The average workforce commute time is 90 minutes, far less than what drivers actually exceed in a trip. To minimize spinal stress, drivers should sit with their seat tilted to 110 degrees. If a driver is on a long drive with lots of vibrations, the driver should adjust the seat angle slightly once every 20 minutes, to distribute to the pressure from sitting. While sedentary, your heart has to work harder to pump blood. If you drive for more than 2 hours, it is recommended that you stop at a rest stop and stretch your legs or do lunges to get your blood flowing.
