El Paso Invests $20 million in Police Vehicles
The City of El Paso, Texas, City Council has just approved $68.75 million for city improvements. Officially approved on August 7th, nearly 1/3rd of the funding, or about ~$20 million is going to be pumped into public safety fleet purchases. $25 million was approved to help with public safety, as well as $19.8 million for upgrading the police fleet. $1.8 million has been set aside for 2 new firetrucks, and one new ambulance. $500,000 has been set aside for non-public safety vehicles. Per documents acquired from a city council meeting, the remaining funds will be split up improving the police and fire facilities.
