Safety Board Looks to Add More Speed Cameras
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has recommended an expansive effort by police and additional cameras to slow drivers down. It is reported that speeding is a major factor in 1/3rd of all road deaths. A new report shows that speeding is almost as dangerous as drunk driving, but is far more socially acceptable. Chairman Robert Sumwait believes that you cant tackle the rising epidemic of road deaths without first addressing a major catalyst, speeding. States have already worked on increasing the speeds of some highways to inprove traffic flow and road efficiency, however its too early to report on the unintended consequences yet. The NTSB does theorize that increasing the speed limit will only increase the needed speed for a greater efficiency, not meet it.
