WIT Promotes Diversity for a Decade
The Women in Trucking (WIT) Celebrated its 10th Year anniversary this March. Women in Trucking is a non-profit group looking to promote diversity by encouraging more women to join the trucking industry. Founded in 2007, they now feature over 4,500 members. Nearly 16% of the members, are men promoting diversity and encouraging women in the field. In 2016, the Women In Trucking Scholarship Foundation awarded over $20,000 in scholarships. In cooperation with the Greater Chicago Girl Scouts, the Girl Scout Transportation Patch was created to bring awareness to the field and show opportunities women have within it.
