UPS Tests Drone Mounted On Trucks
UPS has started testing Drones mounted trucks, in Tampa FL. The Drones are loaded by the driver from the inside of the truck. Then, they receive their coordinates and prepare for take off. While the drone is off delivering a package, the driver will drive to another destination and deliver packages, at the same time. Once the drone is done, it will fly back over to the trucks new lo location. Rural deliveries cost UPS up to $50 million dollars, and are by far the most expensive part of their shipping. Having drones fly to destinations will not only save gas money, but will also allow for more efficient routing.
