Toyota Invests in Indiana Plant
Toyota has announced their investment of $600 Million in their Princeton Plant. These funds look to modernize the plant, as well as meet the growing demand for the Highlander SUV. The funds will be put towards retooling, new equipment, and the latest manufacturing technology. Overall this upgrade estimates an additional 40,000 vehicles will be produces over the course of each year, making this plant more competetive. This plant first began manufacturing the Highlander in 2013. Last year, they produced over 400,000 vehicles, the highest in 20 years. The Highlander received the 2017 Top Safety Pick+ award for its great crash protection.
